Dirty Chicks
Flavourful Feasts, Fresh Ideas
Hummus with a soul (and a bit of spice)
In 2018, I found myself wandering the sun-drenched streets of Jerusalem, led by the scents of cumin, roasting aubergines, and freshly baked pitta drifting from every corner. The vibrant chaos of the Mahane Yehuda Market, where I bargained for the freshest chickpeas under flapping awnings, and the warmth of a local family’s kitchen, where we whizzed chickpeas into silky perfection, left a mark that’s never quite washed off. That unforgettable recipe now lives on here at Dirty Chicks, capturing the authentic, comforting, and deeply moreish flavours of the Middle East in every scoop. Both come with golden, deep-fried pitta chips, ready for that satisfying crunch, and everything gets a scatter of pul biber flakes and fresh parsley, because we don’t believe in bland.
We top our velvety hummus with your choice of: slow-cooked spiced lamb (think allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, za’atar, mint, parsley – the works) or whole chickpeas with lemon, green chilli, and parsley, for a bright, zippy finish.
Let’s be honest: supermarket hummus? That beige paste doesn’t stand a chance. One bite of ours, and you’re on the buzzing streets of Jerusalem (even if you’re actually standing in a muddy field in Nottinghamshire, clutching your humous bowl and smiling like a fool).
Dirty Chicks Hummus is a bold and flavoursome street food experience, bringing a fresh twist to a Middle Eastern classic- loaded hummus. Our authentic, vegan hummus is handcrafted from the finest ingredients, slathered with a generous topping of your choice and then served warm with a freshly baked, topped with crispy pitta chips, pul biber, parsley and dukkah, perfect for scooping up every last moreish bite.
Load your hummus up with our slow cooked, spiced Middle Eastern Lamb or with zesty lemon and parsley. If you like the simpler things in life, just enjoy it as it comes: Gael’s original recipe, entrusted to us during a cookery class in Jerusalem in 2018. Dirty Chicks Hummus delivers a healthy, delectable and addictive hit to your stomach and your soul that will be sure to turn you off supermarket hummus for life.
